Profile of Dimakatso Masiteng
Chief Information Officer
At 33 years old, Dimakatso Masiteng serves as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the National Youth Development Agency (NYDA), where she leads the organisation’s ICT strategy and digital transformation efforts. With a strong focus on leveraging technology to improve operational efficiency and empower youth development initiatives, Dimakatso plays a key role in aligning NYDA’s IT infrastructure with its strategic goals.
Dimakatso holds a Bachelor of Science Honours in Information Technology from Richfield, a BSc in Computer Science, a Nationlal Diploma in Information Technology, and a certificate in IT Project Management from UNISA. She is also pursuing her MBA at Johannesburg Business School, which she is expected to complete in March 2025. Additionally, Dimakatso has completed a Finance for Non-Financial Managers certificate from GIBS Business School, further solidifying her expertise in aligning IT with organizational objectives.
Dimakatso joined NYDA in 2021 as Senior Manager of ICT. She has extensive experience in ICT strategy development, vendor management, business continuity, and leading successful project implementations. Prior to her tenure at NYDA, Dimakatso worked as a consultant in the private sector, bringing her expertise in project management and business analysis to various high-impact projects.
In recognition of her contributions to the tech industry, Dimakatso was nominated as a finalist for the prestigious 2024 Afrika Tech: Women in Tech Award.
Passionate about youth empowerment, Dimakatso is committed to using technology to create sustainable opportunities for young people across South Africa. Her leadership has been instrumental in driving NYDA’s transition toward open-source solutions and improving its digital services.
